Looks like Ice Iridium

- 07/30/2017

Since you're likely replacing the original Oakley lenses, I'll do my best to relate these Galaxy lenses to what they'll be replacing.

Appearance (from viewer), and visual (as worn) depends on the color of lenses that you choose.

BLUE:

Appearance:
The Blue lenses, are polarized and have a reflective coating (similar to Oakley's Iridium coating). The appearance is a crisp bright blue with a hint of green when viewed from extreme angles. On a scale of 1 – 10 with 1 being completely clear and 10 being completely reflective, I would rate the Blue lenses at 7. This lens is going to be most closely matched to the Oakley Ice Iridium lens, though it's not quite as dark blue as the Oakley lens.

Visual:
The Blue lenses, produce a brown/yellow tint. The view is somewhere between that of the Oakley Blue Iridium and Tungsten Iridium lenses. The 18% VLT of the Galaxy Lense is on par with the Oakley Blue/Tungsten lenses which both provide 15% VLT. The 3% difference is likely to be indistinguishable unless you have very sensitive eyes.
The color of the lens has a color shift depending on the angle. I found this most noticeable while driving. While looking straight ahead, you'll see the brown/yellow tint, but when glancing down at the speedometer or up toward a traffic light the color is more noticeably toward the yellow spectrum. This same effect occurs when looking side to side.
The brownish tint seems to have been achieved with a combination of red and yellow hues. The yellow hue is noticeable at steep angles looking toward the edge of the lens, which shifts through a red palette at center creating the brown hue.
Overall, the color shift is minimal, and not bothersome since I rarely look through the edge of my glasses. As noted it was most noticeable while driving, and glancing down at the speedometer.

Fit:
The Galaxy Lenses fit securely into the frames of my Oakley Flak 2.0 glasses. I've got 3 frames (White, Retina Burn, and Orange Flare). I can easily interchange the lenses on all three frames with any of the original Oakley lenses, or Galaxy Lense replacements that I ordered.
The Galaxy lenses are slightly thinner than the original Oakley lenses, but not enough to make them loose. They snap in firmly and don't move around in the frame. I'm a runner, and have had no issues with unwanted movement from the lenses.
The shape of the Galaxy lenses are visually indistinguishable from the Oakely XL lenses. The shape and size of the lenses look original, though when worn they do seem to be slightly larger than the original lenses. Not enough to be an issue unless your original lenses are touching your face. I normally have a slight gap between my face and Oakley lenses, but with the Galaxy lens that gap is even smaller.

Overall opinion:
This is a good choice for replacement lenses. The casual viewer will have no idea they're not original Oakley lenses though an Oakley enthusiast may notice they're slightly lighter blue than original Ice Iridium lenses. While the visual hue is not a color I prefer, it is clearly a popular choice since Oakley has 5 tints which produce a similar tone (24K, Gold, Tungsten, Titanium and Blue).

As with all Galaxy Lenses, these are a fraction of the OEM cost of Oakley polarized lenses, so that's always a plus.

This purchase won't leave you feeling "blue". Great lenses.

I ordered these lenses to replace the original lenses in my Oakley Flak 2.0 XL glasses, which had been scratched.
Quality:
The Galaxy Lenses fit flawlessly into my frames.
The quality of the Galaxy Lenses is not reflected in their price. They are much better quality than the price would lead you to believe. The lenses look great, they're polarized, and fit properly, all at a fraction of the Oakley price.

Appearance by viewer:
The Galaxy "Blue" lenses are going to be your likely replacement for the Oakley Ice Iridium lenses. As viewed by others, these lenses have a clean blue color, with a bit of a purple tone as the contour of the lens causes the light to reflect differently off it. The Galaxy Blue is a slightly lighter shade of blue than the Ice Iridium. The Oakley lens is a bit more pure blue rather than having the purple notes of the Galaxy lenses. The passive viewer is not going to notice the difference between the lenses, and would easily assume you have stock lenses in the frames.
A true Oakley enthusiast, or someone with a side-by-side comparison, my notices the slight color difference, or that the Galaxy Lenses have a minimally less reflective surface than the Oakley Iridium lenses. This is not something the passive viewer will notice.

Appearance by wearer:
The Galaxy "Blue" lens, when worn, produce a slight brown/yellow hue. The polarization is noticeably effective when there is surface glare, which is blocked by the lens. The viewed hue of the Galaxy "Blue" Lenses, are similar to Oakley's Violet Iridium lenses. This is slightly unexpected as Galaxy also offers a Violet lens. I hope to test the Galaxy Violet lenses soon to give a comparison of their view. The view through the Galaxy Lenses is clean with no distortion.

Overall review:
Great lenses. The fit is on par with the Oakley lenses which they are replacing. The appearance of them in the frame looks so similar to the stock lenses they will likely be assumed to be Oakley original lenses. As the wearer you'll enjoy a glare free view, with a clean even tint. The slightly yellow/brown hue is close enough to the Oakley Violet lenses that you'll likely not see a difference unless you have extremely sensitive eyes. The Oakley polarized lens will provide approximately 14% (17% non-polarized) VLT, whereas the Galaxy lens will provide approximately 18% VLT.
These lenses are so close to OEM, I see no reason to pay 4-6 times as much just to get the Oakley name on the package. Once they're in the frame you're not going to see that $50 worth of difference.
