Looks like Jade Iridium

- 07/30/2017

Since you're likely replacing the original Oakley lenses, I'll do my best to relate these Galaxy lenses to what they'll be replacing.

Appearance (from viewer), and visual (as worn) depends on the color of lenses that you choose.

GREEN:

Appearance:
The Green lenses, are polarized and have a reflective coating (similar to Oakley's Iridium coating). The appearance is a green lens with blue highlights. On a scale of 1 – 10 with 1 being completely clear and 10 being completely reflective, I would rate the Green lenses at 8. These lenses are similar to Oakley's Jade Iridium lenses.

Visual:
The Green lenses, produce a moderate purple hue. Oakley doesn't have a lens that produces the same hue, though the color could be best described as overlapping a VR28, and Ruby Iridium lens. This was somewhat disappointing as Oakley's Jade Iridium lens is one of my favorite lenses (right behind +Red), with it's subtle blue hue. The purple hue of the Galaxy Green lens may be preferred by some, but doesn't match the Oakley visual that I had hoped for.
The color of the lens has a color shift depending on the angle. When looking straight ahead, you'll see the purple hue. As you scan to the side of the lens, you'll see a shift to yellow. The same shift occurs when looking up and down through the lens at extreme angles. The yellow hue is not likely to be noticed when worn because the angle has to be steep to see the shift.
Overall, the color shift is minimal, and barely noticeable.
Associated to this review I have included a photo of the Galaxy Lenses in the white frames, next to the Oakley Jade Iridium lenses in the Retina Burn frames. Aside from the lens shape difference (my Jade Iridium are standard, not XL), the lenses are a very close match.

Fit:
The Galaxy Lenses fit securely into the frames of my Oakley Flak 2.0 glasses. I've got 3 frames (White, Retina Burn, and Orange Flare). I can easily interchange the lenses on all three frames with any of the original Oakley lenses, or Galaxy Lense replacements that I ordered.
The Galaxy lenses are slightly thinner than the original Oakley lenses, but not enough to make them loose. They snap in firmly and don't move around in the frame. I'm a runner, and have had no issues with unwanted movement from the lenses.
The shape of the Galaxy lenses are visually indistinguishable from the Oakely XL lenses. The shape and size of the lenses look original, though when worn they do seem to be slightly larger than the original lenses. Not enough to be an issue unless your original lenses are touching your face. I normally have a slight gap between my face and Oakley lenses, but with the Galaxy lens that gap is even smaller.

Overall opinion:
This is a good choice for replacement lenses. They match the appearance of the original Oakley Jade Iridium lenses, but keep in mind the view through them is different than the original. These lenses are not likely to be noticed as a replacement by either the casual viewer, or the Oakley enthusiast, though the enthusiast will immediately pick them out as a replacement if they look through them.

As with all Galaxy Lenses, these are a fraction of the OEM cost of Oakley polarized lenses, so that's always a plus.
